A romantic period suite in the Georgian house at Ballinderry Park

Just the Two of You

Romantic Getaways
in Ireland

A suite in a 300-year-old country house, or a glamping pod under the Galway stars — with a hot tub and a welcome for your dog.

A romantic getaway at Ballinderry Park is a stay for two on a private Georgian estate in East County Galway, near Ballinasloe. Choose a period suite in the 300-year-old house or a cosy glamping pod in the grounds — both come with the estate hot tub, 41 acres of quiet woodland and walled garden to wander, open fires, and a warm welcome for your dog. No crowds, no passing traffic, and Galway an easy drive away when you want it.

Two Ways to Escape Together

Whether you want the grandeur of the big house or the hush of a pod in the woods, a romantic getaway here is built for a couple — never a crowd.

In the Big House

A suite in the Georgian house

Wake up in a 300-year-old country house — high ceilings, antique furniture, open fires and the deep quiet of the countryside. A room for the two of you, breakfast in the morning, and the run of the drawing room and library by lamplight.

Under the Stars

A glamping pod for two

Tucked into the grounds away from the house, a snug pod for two — proper bed, warmth and your own corner of the estate. Wake to birdsong and 41 acres to yourselves. Glamping made for a couple, not a crowd.

Soak in the Hot Tub

Tucked behind the Coach House sits the estate hot tub — a warm soak with open countryside on every side and, after dark, a sky full of stars. It is there for guests to use, whether you are staying in the house or the glamping pod, and it is the easiest way to end a day of walking, reading and doing very little at all.

A Dog-Friendly Romantic Getaway

A weekend away should not mean leaving the dog in kennels. Ballinderry Park is fully dog-friendly, so your dog comes too — with 41 acres of woodland and parkland to explore together and no roads to worry about. A romantic getaway, the whole household included.

Why Couples Choose Ballinderry

The hot tub

Soak in the estate hot tub, tucked behind the Coach House — warm water, open sky and nothing but countryside around you.

Bring the dog

Fully dog-friendly. Your dog is welcome to come along and roam the grounds with you — no need to leave anyone behind.

41 private acres

Woodland, walled garden and parkland with no crowds and no passing traffic — just space to wander and slow down together.

Open fires & period rooms

Drawing room, library and crackling fires in a genuine Georgian country house — the kind of setting a hotel cannot fake.

Dinner by arrangement

A candlelit dinner for two can be arranged in the house — ask us when you enquire and we will take care of it.

Galway on the doorstep

Galway city is about a 45-minute drive and Athlone around 25 — easy day trips, then home to the quiet of the estate.

We had the BEST weekend at Ballinderry House! Rowan and Joel went above and beyond — Joel actually created a full murder mystery party for us, complete with characters, clues, and a completely decked-out main house. It was so thoughtful and creative, and we had an absolute blast.

From the whimsical artwork to the ample gardens, Ballinderry Park was a treat through and through. Upon our arrival, Rowan started a fire in both outdoor and indoor fireplaces and invited us to use all of the amenities of this lovely B and B.

We had a fantastic weekend. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The food was outstanding — the ratatouille on the first night and the roast dinner the next day were both delicious. The views were breathtaking.

I stayed here for a weekend with friends for a board game event. It was an incredible venue for it. Many rooms, and big tables, and we were kept warm and cosy throughout. The facilities were perfect.

This is a great spot. The house and grounds are beautiful, we were given really nice home cooked food. The common spaces were large enough for a group, comfortable and warm due to the log burning stove.

I stayed here for a stag do with a group of lads. The hosts provided dinners on Friday and Saturday and a fully stocked kitchen. It is a fantastic old manor house but is modernized with all mod cons and the grounds are beautiful.
